11-Sep-2010 Bridgwater's Under 10 junior Tom Tribe was part of Somerset under 10s county team that for the first time won the South West inter-county competition in May 2010, qualifying for the national team finals at Bolton Arena in June 2010. See LTA report for details.

Somerset battled hard in the final, but came last out of the eight counties with Tom the only Somerset player to win a live singles rubber. Experience of playing the nationally-funded (AEGON Future Stars) boys has shown the team that the gap is not that great.

Tom reached the final of the Somerset U10 County Closed in August 2010, losing in a competitive final 6-3 6-3 to No. 1 seed Edward Shattock. However he bounced back to win the doubles with his partner Robbie Davies.

Tom has been coached by club coach Steve Johnson for two years - for details of junior group coaching on Wednesdays and Saturdays please see the juniors' section
